Upgrade (Obsolete)

Upgrading your firmware without the official update

Warning: This is the old version of this page kept for posterity. It is no longer actively maintained. A 4.2 method is available which is easier, faster and installs less useless stuff.

This page gives you instructions on how to update your firmware to 4.0 or 4.1. This lets you get the features of those updates without any of the chance of bricking that the newer updates might cause. If you wish to upgrade to version 4.1 from a firmware less than 4.0, you should first upgrade to 4.0.

For more information about upgrading, see the Upgrade FAQ
