"56: This IOS can be used as a base IOS for IOS249 rev 20. It has the speed of base 57 and compatibility of base 37, making it the best choice." : latest Call of Duty (PAL) require IOS57 (with defaults settings in NeoGamma at least).

I think what the above is in regards to is that Call of Duty: Black Ops isn't compatible with any of the IOSes used in the installation tutorial. I believe only the following will work:
- cIOS 250 [57 Base] Rev 19
- cIOS 250 [57 Base] Rev 20
- cIOS 249 [57 Base] Rev 19
- CIOS 249 [57 Base] Rev 20
- cIOS 224 [57 Base] v5.1
Would it be safe to consider either using cIOS 250 or v5.1 of Hermes to install 224 to remedy this?
Yes, but the 247, 248 and 223 slots will also work of course. Any IOS with base 57 will work.
The information will be updated soon to reflect it, but I plan to do a whole revamp of the default installation pattern installing 249 into either the 247 or 248 slot and installing 224 in addition to 222&223, as then you can run disc updates safely as they aren't stubbed yet. This all has to wait for a little while until I've sorted out and tested the best configuration that will stand the test of time, including the new meta.xml supporting forwarder as it is necessary for this concept.
Awesome, thank you again, I was hesitant to deviate from the tutorial without asking since this has been the best I've found, hence the recent questions. That's great to know, I misunderstood the relationship between the IOSes and the bases and didn't realize it was applicable to those other IOSes as well.
I have performed the IOS236 and IOS249 installs as described, and everything is working tickety-boo.
However, I'm now having niggling doubts about not backing up my NAND before doing homebrew. As far as restoring things to the way they used to be, I know I can just delete the 2xx IOS's and get rid of the Homebrew Channel and be more or less home and dry… except for IOS15, which, as I understand it, gets patched in the installation of IOS236 (downgrading to the fake signing bug). Is there any way to restore the proper up-to-date version of IOS15?
Also, if any other IOS's are patched in the installation of IOS236 and 249, (e.g. IOS36?) the same question applies to those.
Thanks so much!
