Works great!
Thank you for this tutorial.
I am new with a new Wii and have been wanting to install a USB forwarder with out Bricking, to give my family a simple access to the games.
It seems you have no tags attached to pages. To attach a tag simply click on the tags button at the bottom of any page.
Hello!
Well, I've made it to this point in your tutorial, everything seems to be working thanks!,
now I'd like to install a Forwarder channel for Configurable USB Loader, I've done everything offline
so far because I don't have wifi yet but I'm going to set it up so I can install IOS58 properly.
My questions is… if I set up the wifi on my wii will it try to automatically update to 4.3 or can I choose not to update?
I'm currently on 4.2. Thanks!
How to setup the cfg loader to run from the usb hhd drive (the same hdd drive I stored games) instead of sd card when access it from the Wii menu? I was running the cfg loader through sd card and ran a game or 2 last night … Just want to know what to do before installing the forwarder channel into the Wii menu …
Thanks
When i start usbloader channel i get back to the wii menu. I don't know what to do pls help.
I had the same issue, but was able to fix it by installing IOS58 (http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-guides-tutorials/66489-latest-ios-channels-wads.html)
I followed this tutorial, but no forwarder channel shows up in my menu. Has something changed, or have I done something wrong? Please help!
Short version: Yay! It works! :)
Long version: I swear I had done all that, but I did it again (except for installing IOS58, since I'd already updated to ver. 4.3). I then went back & repeated a bunch of other things, including setting USBLoader to use IOS248 instead of IOS224-mload. That also allowed my games to actually load, as USBLoader was previously useless.
So I don't know what exactly was wrong, but your advice helped me fix my Wii.
Thank you, blueping!
sorry to jump in, but when i was installing my forwarder channel, i already had ios249 installed, and there was no option to choose ios236, the highest was ios250. i just chose ios249 and installed it, and it works - is there a difference if i had done ios250 or iso236 if i could find it or all the others?
@Hapii:
I'm glad I could assist you fix your Wii
@out7aw:
Once the forwarder installed and works, it doesn't matter how you installed it.
See a forwarder as a shortcut like in Windows, just an icon in the channel menu which points to the location where your USB loader is actually running from.
I had a problem with these instructions, and just wanted to share how I got past it.
I followed the instructions using my 4 GB SDHC card, which includes my USB Loader files, but when I loaded the WAD Manager, it kept giving me an "error=-1" when I had selected to load the wad from Wii SD Card.
Looking around a bit, I found that other people had the same problem and it was resolved by using a different SD card. I used a 32 MB SD card, and was able to find the wad on the SD card. Of course, since my USB Loader was on my 4 GB card, the forwarder didn't work, but when I swapped the SD card back, it works great!
Thanks!
okay I did all the step and rename the ones that I needed t, but I'm stuck in Step 9, I don't see that app to run. "/apps/InstForwarder/boot.dol"
What do you see? Have you checked for extra pages of apps? Perhaps try using the hard drive instead of SD (same file location, but either SD must be unplugged or you would access the hard drive apps by pushing 1 in HBC).
The folder named "InstForwarder" looks empty (From my Computer), but I click on it and there's the file I rename to "boot.dol"
The HBC doesn't see the app. I can't try the HDD since this computer can't read the HDD.
in the wad manager folder (Rename to Boot.dol) is there only three other folders in there? (Data / Lib / Source) and a Makefile..or is there any thing missing? (There's also a two read docs and a License one), I still can get pass step 9. I went through HBC and its not there…or is there any other way to get the fowarder?
I think you are downloading the source link rather than the compiled application, which is incorrect. The link on the WAD Manager page seems to be down, so try the alternate link that is listed in the tutorial.
yep you were right, I DL the source. Now that I got it and did it, it seems that screen went to a black screen with white lettering stating: Exception (DSI) occurred: (With alot of number) and then it says Stacks Dumps (More Numbers) and Code Dump (More Numbers). I assume it froze, should I leave it as is and wait or did I do something wrong?
The Stack Dump screen is the Wii's BSOD type thingy. Just hold the powere button down to reset the machine and try again. All apps do that occasionally.
Clearly it's not working for you. Try YAWMM instead. It should work in a fairly similar way.
Use the zip version and copy the YAWMM/apps/WadManager directory and contents to apps/WadManager
Although given you are getting that error, it might be the case that you have a file on the SD that is confusing the Wad Manager. Perhaps try copying everything else off the card and installing it fresh.
IOS yes. If you already tried deleting everything else off the SD, then I'm not sure what's wrong.
I swear I had done all that, but I did it again (except for installing IOS58, since I'd already updated to ver. 4.3). I then went back & repeated a bunch of other things, including setting USBLoader to use IOS248 instead of IOS224-mload. That also allowed my games to actually load, as USBLoader was previously useless.
I'm using LoadMii to get to my SD card and then selecting the boot dol in the Apps InstForwarder folder I get the Wad Manager v17 screen to show with disclaimer and press A or B (and the funky music.)
Problem my Wii Remotes disconnect and I cannot get them to reconnect so I can press either A or B. I just have to power off. Tried many times - same things WiiMotes disconnect and I can't finish the install of the Wad Manager!
HELP!
When I'm installing it and picking the IOS part, it doesn't even have IOS 236 as an option. So if I install it else where would it matter?
You are not choosing where to install it, but what to install it with. Provided the IOS you choose is able to install it, then it'll work.
The FIX94's Cfg Forwarder Channel v8 link is broken.
I'm getting the error: Reading WAD data…ERROR! (ret = -1). I don't understand, as I've installed this on another wii before. I tried using a different SD card to no avail.
