I made an upgrade recently and assumed my wii was 4.2U and it wasn't. the homebrew channel was a success installing. BUT, now when I try to follow instructions to install IOS249, at step: Ensure the IOS at the top of the screen now states "IOS15 (Rev 257)"… my screen doesn't match this, it says "IOS36 (Rev 3094)"… I'm stuck, what do I do? I'm trying to take the necessary steps to install Configurable USB Loader v.47. Any suggestions?

This is more of a question for IOS249 rather than the HBC, but I'll answer anyway. With TBR, the first question it asks you is which IOS to load. You need to select IOS15 with the left/right buttons on the D-pad and then push A to select.
I am stuck, I have installed the Homebrew Channel and it only gives me the page with bubbles, I have tried everything to set the channel upi properly….I NEED HELP (like the idiots guide), was wondering if formatting the WII and starting again would help?
The HBC is just a screen with bubbles unless you have Homebrew apps on your card. Have you installed any apps into the apps directory on the SD card?
I have completely hack my Wii with this awesome "GAF's Wii Homebrew Tutorial".I have made all the steps.
The last month i was playing with UsbLoader, from my drive, a lot of games without any problem.
1 week ago i have the above problem. It just shows me The HBC screen with bubbles and all the apps i have installed on my card. The wii-remote try to find any signal and unfortunately can't connect!!!!
I can't understand what happened.
Please, i need help!!!!
Go to the Wii Menu and resync the Wiimote by pushing the sync buttons on the controller and console. If that doesn't work, ensure that the Wiimote you are using is for player 1. Also remove any Gamecube controllers.
I have done this already but doesn't work!
The strange thing is that my wii-remote works when i open wii menu but lost its signal when i open Homebrew menu.
I also don't have any Gamecube controllers.
Any othe idea???
How exactly do you do that Dr. Clipper. I tried to install the snes app. First I created a apps folder and put it inside. Then I just copied it to the root ,then after those two didnt work I pasted the contents of the folder in the root ,and still all I got was bubbles.
I maid an upgrade yesterday. my wii is 4.2u. The homebrew channel is gone.
now I have tried everything to set the HBC.
I NEED HELP.
my sd card has apps,hackmii_installer_v0.6,private,privateold,wad,boot.dol,boot.elf,installer,IOS15-64-V257.wad,IOS15-64-v266.wad,IOS36-64-v3094.wad,IOS38-64-v3610.wad
when i press the SD card icon.

Selected IOS for startpatch <249>
I got a HBC now, but I can not install Bootmii. When I Selected Install BootMii as boot2 at the BootMii Menu.
Then FAILED (-1) another one (as IOS) too.
My HBC is not working. When I press cIOS installer. It is seaching for IOS at the internet continually.
and I press another HBC Menu it make dumb(black screen).
how to get start. hellp me.
Sounds like your HBC is working fine. It's the applications you are running that are failing. Follow the instructions in this tutorial for the applications carefully and you should not have a problem. Both cIOSes contained in this guide (IOS249 and Hermes' IOS222/223) have offline instructions you can use when the online methods don't work for you.
Dear Dr Clipper
Now I got a Gecko,Backup Launcher,CiosInstaller,HBB at HBC.
Gecko is working good but can not read DVD,Backup Launcher still black screen,CiosInstaller is just down load from internet.
only HBB is working.
What's wrong with my wii?
There is nothing wrong with your Wii, again it is just that you are not following the instructions for the applications correctly.
I'm not going to help with Backup Launcher, I've never used it and there is no reason for the non-pirate to deal with it. If the cIOS installer you are thanking about is for Hermes' IOS222/223, then make sure you are following the instructions correctly and removing any GameCube peripherals and so on. If the network install still fails, follow the instructions for the offline install. If you are trying to do the offline install and it is still connecting to the network, then you have not followed the instructions correctly. Read the NUS Downloader steps carefully.
I can't access my homebrew channel from the wii main menu/homepage. It shows up in "wii options/data managment/ channels", but it does not show up in the wii menu. Some of the other game channels are not showing either, even though their are openings for them. What gives? I have to go through bootmi or usb loader gx to access the homebrew channel. Any suggestions?
You have checked all four pages of channels, right? If it isn't appearing on any of them, then I suggest you use the Hackmii installer to delete then reinstall the HBC. Make sure you have another valid way to Launch homebrew before you try deleting the HBC, though (it's only really a concern if you have 4.3 firmware).
Hey, all of this info has been invaluable.
Is there a way to prevent the HBC from logging itself on the Wii message board?
OK, I think I answered my own question. If I set BootMii (which I have installed as Boot2) to automatically boot to the HBC, then no activity will be logged to the Wii Message board. Is this assumption correct?
I have recently reinstalled the homebrew channel because it wouldn't read any of the apps on my SD card and I've already reformatted and everything..
I'm running 4.2u and I would like to know why it's not working
I'm not sure what your issue is. Try reinstalling the HBC again, perhaps something went wrong before. Also, make sure you didn't accidentally rename your apps directory or something.
Something else to check is whether the HBC will see the SD card as an option when you push 1. Can any other apps see the SD card? Can you use the SD button on the Wii Menu to use the card?Perhaps the card has a faulty connection to the Wii (I had an old miniSD to SD converter that caused this until I tightened its clip).
I've had all working up to and including the Configurable USB loader, (started with 4.3 upgrade and SSBB). I had 500G formated as FAT32 using GParted, USB loader liked it. I was attempting to get FTPii to work when it kept telling me that the disk file system failed. After reading the README-CFG, I saw that NTFS was supported, so I wiped the HDD and reformatted as NTFS.
Now the USB loader is able to see the drive but not write to it, so I used the v60-222.dol. USB Loader would not see the HDD after that change so I replaced the original file. When started at this time from the Forwarder, it hangs saying "Loading". Thinking that to be an issue with the Forwarder channel, I attempted to start HBC, which not hangs with a black screen. (i have since seen the config entry "ntfs_write = 1")
Well, I did create a NAND backup while the HDD was re-formatting, but without BootMii, I can't restore it.
I start to begin the HBC install to try to repair, but after Stage Builder starts the .elf, it hangs at the "This software is not to be sold…" message.
Any advice as for how to get HBC back working?
Your HBC should still be working according to those instructions. Also, the installer may stall at that message for about 30 seconds before the prompt shows up, so make sure you are waiting for it.
Note that the HBC can not read NTFS drives, it can only read FAT32, so make sure that you have your apps on the SD card, and it is probably a good idea to unplug the drive so the HBC doesn't try to mount it.
To start BootMii, you probably need to push 1 or Home (one or the other, I can't remember which right now) at the HBC and select the option to start BootMii. I think it's automatically installed in the most recent HBC, so it should be there.
As for getting Cfg working again, I suggest you format back to FAT32. Some drives just don't work as NTFS formatting. ntfs_write is probably not going to help in this case.
All issues are resolved except for the FTPii still not seeing the HDD.
Hey I got a 4.3G wii and have had home brew and configurable USB loader ect. For around 9 months. Suddenly after playing pokemon leaf green on the emulator visual boy advance gx and the next morning I open home brew channel and the emulAtor and my screen goes black and my wii would not turn off. Since then the hombrew channel wont open and the same thing happens and I have to unplug my wii. Have you seen this before and what can I do to fix it?
